Hazen Hardware Building

Established in 1958, Hazen Hardware was a historic hub for Clatskanie’s home improvement needs until July of 2014 when its doors finally closed. The new owner, Steven Oliva, said that the closure was a part of a larger plan to consolidate hardware and garden supplies at his nearby store, Hi-School Pharmacy.  The Oliva family agreed to donate the space to Disjecta for the duration of the Biennial.  While its future remains unknown, the building’s charming slants and slopes have now become home, at least temporarily, to part of Oregon’s largest art exhibition.
